NGO Biodiversity Conservation Initiatives
Non-government organizations (NGO) have a long history of active support for biodiversity conservation in the province - from local community groups spending their weekends cleaning up streams so they can once again support fish spawning to province-wide organizations spearheading public fund-raising campaigns to help acquire and preserve significant ecological features. Information on conservation initiatives by BC's NGO stakeholders will be gathered and added to the site during the stakeholder consultation process following the release of British Columbia's Biodiversity Action Plan: Draft for Discussion in early 2008.
